About
A daily bug for a good think.
PonderBug is a small clutch of daily logic puzzles built around a single conviction: the best kind of puzzle rewards reasoning, not luck. Every board can be solved by thinking it through — and the little jolt when the last piece is forced into place is the whole reason it exists.
Why “no guessing” is the whole point
Lots of puzzle games quietly let you brute-force your way through — try a thing, see if it lights up green, try another. That can be fun, but it isn’t thinking. PonderBug puzzles are designed and tested so that every move follows from the ones before it. If you can’t yet prove a step, the answer is on the board — you just haven’t found the clue yet.
To keep it honest, there’s no live right/wrong feedback while you play. You fill the board, then ask for a single verdict. Finding your own mistakes is part of the puzzle.
Meet the roly-poly
The little coral pillbug is PonderBug’s mascot — a curious bug that mulls things over, lights up when the idea lands, and curls into a contented ball when the day’s puzzles are done. It’s the mood we’re going for: calm, curious, quietly satisfying.
Independent, and built to stay simple
PonderBug is an independent project, not a venture-backed attention machine. That shapes the choices:
- No ads. Nothing follows you around the web because of us.
- Guest-first. You can play every day without an account — your progress lives in your own browser. Sign in only if you want streaks and a leaderboard that travels between devices.
- We don’t sell data. There are no ad networks and no data brokers in the picture. The Privacy Policy spells out exactly what’s collected and why.
- Minimal by design. We collect as little as we can get away with and still run leaderboards fairly.
Where it’s going
New puzzles land every day, and the lineup grows as new games pass the “can you really solve this by deduction?” test. Follow along on the what’s new page.
